Before your shipment clears customs

Importers and distributors bringing phones into Nigeria. For each shipment, the Commission requires the IMEI numbers and the commercial invoice to be uploaded through its Importer Portal and the fee paid. Customs releases the goods only when the certificate is issued.

What we need

Company name and contact details. The IMEI list for the shipment and the commercial invoice. Confirmation that each model is Type Approved. If a model in the shipment is not Type Approved, we can file for it — see Type Approval.

What it costs

$0.50 per IMEI number for standard phones, $1.00 for high-end, plus $150 per shipment certificate, on top of the Commission's fee. Before value-added tax; quoted in dollars, invoiced in naira at a named rate.
